LEWTECH SOLUTIONS - Remapping Terms & Conditions

Before booking an ECU remap with LEWTECH SOLUTIONS, please read the following information carefully. By proceeding with our remapping service, you confirm that you understand and accept these terms.


ECU remapping is a performance-related service. Although a correctly written Stage 1 remap is designed to work within safe operating limits, it is important to understand that every vehicle is different. The condition, age, mileage, service history and mechanical health of your vehicle can all affect the final result.


Vehicle components can fail when the vehicle is standard, just as they can after being remapped. A remap can sometimes highlight existing weak points because the engine, turbo, clutch, gearbox and related systems may now be working harder than before.


For this reason, your vehicle should be in good mechanical condition before any tuning work is carried out. Regular servicing, quality oil, genuine or good-quality parts, good fuel and sensible driving all help keep your vehicle running correctly. If your vehicle requires mechanical attention, this should be repaired before considering a remap.


Vehicle Condition

LEWTECH SOLUTIONS carries out remapping work on the understanding that the vehicle is presented to us in good working order and within the expected manufacturer tolerances.

We do not provide warranty or accept liability for mechanical or electrical components including, but not limited to:

  • Turbochargers
  • Injectors
  • Clutches
  • Engines
  • Gearboxes
  • DPF systems
  • EGR systems
  • GPF systems
  • Boost leaks
  • Boost pipes
  • Sensors
  • Wiring
  • Any other serviceable or wear-related parts

These components have a serviceable lifespan and may already be worn, weak or close to failure before the remap is carried out.

If you would like your vehicle checked in more detail before remapping, please book a datalogging session before booking the remap. Datalogging is an additional paid service and is not included as part of a standard remapping appointment.


Power, Torque & Fuel Economy

All quoted power and torque gains are approximate. Results can vary depending on the vehicle’s make, model, age, mileage, engine health, fuel quality, previous maintenance, software version and any existing modifications.

Fuel economy improvements are also not guaranteed. Fuel efficiency after a remap depends on several factors, including driving style, outside temperature, tyre pressures, vehicle weight, service condition and how the vehicle is used.


Customer Responsibilities

By proceeding with a remap, the customer accepts that:

  • All power and torque figures are estimates only.
  • Fuel economy improvements cannot be guaranteed.
  • Any existing or pending faults found before, during or after the remap are not the responsibility of LEWTECH SOLUTIONS.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to inform their insurance company of any ECU remap or vehicle modification.
  • Remapping may affect or void manufacturer warranty, extended warranty, lease agreements or finance terms.
  • We will not test any vehicle above the legal speed limit on public roads.
  • We cannot confirm performance times such as 0–60 mph runs on public roads.
  • The vehicle must be maintained correctly after the remap.
  • The customer must inform us of any known faults, previous remaps, modifications or mechanical issues before work begins.


Emissions-Related Software

Any emissions bypass or emissions-related software, including but not limited to DPF, GPF, EGR, AdBlue, DECAT or flap delete software, is strictly for off-road, motorsport or non-road use only.


Vehicles used on public roads must comply with all MOT, road traffic, tax, insurance and environmental regulations.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure their vehicle remains legal for its intended use. LEWTECH SOLUTIONS accepts no responsibility for the road use of a vehicle that has had emissions-related software modifications carried out.


Manufacturer Warranty

The original vehicle manufacturer makes its own decisions regarding warranty, warranty claims and the effect of any aftermarket product, service or software modification.

LEWTECH SOLUTIONS is not responsible for any manufacturer warranty issue, rejected warranty claim, lease issue, finance issue or other manufacturer-related matter that may arise after a remap or vehicle modification.


Test Drive & Aftercare

As part of the remapping process, where possible, we may carry out a test drive to check that the vehicle responds correctly to the new software and that no obvious issues are present.

We will not test the vehicle above the legal speed limit on public roads.


If an issue occurs after the work has been completed, the customer must contact LEWTECH SOLUTIONS first and give us the opportunity to inspect or resolve the issue before any third party carries out further work.

We may ask the customer to have the vehicle checked by an independent mechanic to confirm whether the issue is related to the remap or caused by an existing mechanical or electrical fault. Any third-party diagnostic or inspection costs are the customer’s responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing beforehand.

If the vehicle is found to have a mechanical or electrical fault, we can remove the remap and return the vehicle to standard software. No refund will be issued where the issue is caused by the vehicle and not by the software supplied by LEWTECH SOLUTIONS.

Once the fault has been repaired, we may be able to reinstall the remap. In many cases this can be done free of charge, but a charge may apply depending on the time required.


Liability

LEWTECH SOLUTIONS will not accept liability for repair bills, recovery costs, loss of earnings, inconvenience, vehicle downtime, third-party labour costs or any other losses unless agreed in writing.

Any costs relating to a fault or issue must be discussed with us first. We must be given the opportunity to inspect and resolve the issue before any other person, garage or company works on the vehicle.

Failure to contact us first may result in LEWTECH SOLUTIONS refusing to cover or contribute towards any costs incurred.


Refund Policy

Refunds or part-refunds are only considered under the following conditions.

If you are unhappy with the remap and return the vehicle to us within 30 days of the remap being completed, we can remove the tuned file, return the vehicle to its original stock file and issue a refund excluding the installation fee.

The installation fee covers the time, labour, software handling and file installation carried out during the original booking.

This refund policy does not apply to vehicles that have had mechanical processes, emissions-related modifications or physical modifications carried out, including but not limited to DPF, EGR, DECAT, GPF, AdBlue, swirl flap or similar modifications.


If the vehicle is returned after the 30-day period, no refund will be given. A charge may apply to return the vehicle to standard software. This charge will normally be up to 50% of the original cost of the work.


If the vehicle develops a fault after remapping and the fault is not directly caused by the software or work carried out by LEWTECH SOLUTIONS, no refund will be given. We may still return the vehicle to standard software, but a small charge may apply to cover our time.


Limited Software Warranty

LEWTECH SOLUTIONS provides a limited warranty to the original purchaser of the remap that the software supplied has not been intentionally over-tuned beyond suitable limits for the agreed tuning request.

Proof of purchase, invoice details and the original remap date may be required before any warranty request is reviewed.

This warranty is non-transferable between vehicles or owners.

The warranty does not cover mechanical failure, electrical failure, wear and tear, poor maintenance, existing faults, undisclosed modifications, misuse, third-party interference or faults caused by components operating outside their expected condition.


Final Agreement

By booking and proceeding with a remap or related service from LEWTECH SOLUTIONS, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood this disclaimer.
  • You understand the risks involved with vehicle tuning.
  • You accept that results can vary.
  • You accept that the vehicle is being remapped at the owner’s risk and consent.
  • You understand that the condition of the vehicle plays a major role in the outcome.
  • You agree that LEWTECH SOLUTIONS is not responsible for pre-existing, pending or future mechanical or electrical failures not directly caused by our work.
